The Emerald Eyed Snake is actually an amphibian, living both in land and water. It has gills to breath in the water and lungs to breathe in the air. There is a special system that takes the air from the gills and pumps it into the lungs.

It leaves behind itself a trail of slime. Which makes it easy to track, but it is left alone by potential predators because it is also covered in the slime, which grows when in contact with saliva and suffocates them. Then the Emerald Eyed Snake slowly eats its would be predator.

One such predator has adapted to this defense. The SqirTon has a pouch which can expand to hold all the slime and then swallow the snake whole. The scat of the SqirTon has been known to glitter with the snake's emerald eyes.
